The Doctors by Squisherific The Doctors by Squisherific
The Emergency Medical Hologram (also known just as the Doctor), and Emergency Command Hologram from Star Trek Voyager commissioned by :iconmahapanta:. ^__^

They both have magnets in their right hands, which allows them to hold their plushie medicinal tricorder(which also has a magnet). They also both have their mobile emitters on their arms, which allows them to leave the sickbay, and interact like a real person lol! ^^

Working with the magnets was something new, but it actually was really cool, because it added a whole new dimension to the plushies. It kind of makes me want a magnetized plushie too haha! ^-^

Thanks again for the commission, :iconmahapanta: ! ^__^

Bad. Ass.

Great character, and great craftsmanship to boot! What a good idea to add the magnets.

Oh my gosh, those are so frickin' adorable. The Doc was always my favorite Voyager character, so naturally, these little guys just make me inordinately happy. And they even have mobile emitters! That is hilarious! You win the title of Ruler of Plushieville.

Woah! Amazing! <3 I love the details in the little tricorder thingies--the fact that they're magnetized is so much cooler!
I love how you did the hair! It must be challenging doing a character that's balding, but you pulled it off wonderfully! Great work!

Thanks very much! :hug: It was maybe a tiny bit more challenging doing balding hair. It really was more of just a worry of how cute balding plushies would look? ^^; But, I'm glad they worked out well. ^^

No problem! And the magnet idea is AWESOME. Seriously, I would have used something lame like velcro, or even stitching stuff together XD;;;;

I agree. It was majorly cool!^^ And if that's lame, then I should join the lame train too, because I was going to stitch it to the plush as well lol! I never worked with magnets before, so it was all the commissioners idea. Plus, he sent me these super powerful mini magnets that work so well through the fabric of the doll. They are literally the size of cell batteries, so they fit perfectly inside even the smallest of places in the plush. ^-^

I'd honestly be afraid for some magnets... They'd "clink" together so hard that the fabric might be damaged, you know? ...Then again, I guess it depends on the fabric, too XD;;
I might have to get some magnets for a certain doll I'm working on. It might be a stupid idea for the doll I have in mind, though... XD;;;;

I know exactly what you mean. That was my fear too. When I tested the magnets against fabric before sewing them in, I realized that it wasn't so much the clinking together, but the pulling apart that might rip the fabric. So, to remedy that, I double layered that particular piece of the pattern, whether it was the hand, or the bottom of the tricorder. And then I sewed the magnet to that second, inside piece of fabric. That did three things:

a)It allowed me to properly sew the magnet into the fabric without allowing the stitching, or bunching to show in any way on the outside of the plush.

b)It kept the magnet in place, eliminating the pulling problem.

c) The double fabric of each plush item cushioned the clinking of the magnets, since there were 4 layers of fabric between them. ^__^

Out of curiosity, what plush did you have in mind for magnets? ^^

I have seen a ton of Mel Brooks films, but I've never seen The Producers. However, I do know the general plot, and definitely know what character you're talking about, and I think that plush would be all kinds of awesome, and absolutely hysterical. ^-^ Especially with the addition of magnetic pigeons :lol: You should totally do it!

Even more so now. His Stargate Atlantis character, Richard Woolsey will be replacing Samantha Carter as he joins the regular cast of Stargate Atlantis full-time for the show's fifth season. He will be taking over the role of mission commander of the Atlantis Expedition. Not Captain or team leader, Mission Commander of the Atlantis Expedition! To quote his character, "Nothing renews your appreciation for the military like the threat of invasion from life-sucking aliens.".

"Little did you know that when you took my commission you would wind up doing more Star Trek! :evillaugh: "
Yes, I noted her after seeing your commission. It also gave me the idea to commission two, but with different uniforms. A few more and we could make a Plushie Fan movie, "Star Trek P, The Search for Plushies". :XD:
