My latest plushie. He's Hiro Nakamura from the hit show Heroes. He's made of suede cloth, craft velour, and faux fur. His jacket was completed before anything else, because I just knew it was going to be a project. Now, technically, Hiro has no "set" outfit, so I could have put him in a number of different things. However, I really thought it was important to put him in the clothes he was introduced to us in. Plus, that jacket is SO Hiro.

About the jacket, I collected a million (may or may not be an exaggeration) reference pictures of that damn jacket, and did my best to replicate the design on the computer. I then printed it on iron-on transfer sheets and ironed each piece separately onto it's corresponding fabric piece, and THEN sewed the jacket together. Now, I don't think, I KNOW I missed some of the detailing. There were some bits right at the top I just couldn't make out in pictures. But, I'm content with how it turned out.

Also, I was seriously contemplating making Hiro's Samurai sword that we saw "Future Hiro" carrying, and that he is destined to get in the next new episodes. But we haven't gotten a good look at it yet, so I left it out. Like Sora, Hiro is also stuffed with doll pellets, and very little fiber fill, so he can sit or stand. Yatta! ^^

Oh gawd....I LOVE IT!!!!! ; --- ; *would die to have one of Hiro plushies!!!*

I just finished watching Heroes and fell in love with the series...and the character Hiro, with his innocence yet honest working-hard-to-be hero, is just hard to not become a fan of!!!

That jacket sure would have been difficult to make...with such complicating patterns and all...But it is perfect!!! I could tell right away that it was Hiro despite seeing it on a small thumbnail. :3
